Overview

Thank you for joining your colleagues for the Cleveland Clinic Nephrology Update 2024.  This year’s update will provide a review of the most up-to-date data and analyze it for implications in clinical practice, as well as focus on the most recent current topics that impact your practice.  Cleveland Clinic Nephrology Update 2024 features experts that will address diagnosis and management strategies for patients with kidney disease.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for nephrologists, rheumatologists, cardiologists, hepatologists, intensive care specialists, internists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and all other clinicians who care for these patients.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the role of precision medicine in the care of patients with genetic kidney diseases, and describe the major hereditary renal syndromes.
  • Summarize the most recent advances in the treatment of polycystic kidney disease.
  • Identify the management strategies of hepatorenal syndrome, including therapies such as MARS, Terlipressin, and CRRT.
  • Describe and critically appraise several updates in nephrology, including future therapies of C3GN, the pathogenesis and management of IgA nephropathy, and the major advances in the field of kidney transplantation.
  • Identify controversies in the management of ANCA-associated vasculitis as well as the role of emerging therapies.
  • Describe the role of the complement pathway in the development of thrombotic microangiopathy.
  • Recognize the different facets of glomerular disease management beyond immuno-modulatory therapy.
  • Summarize the emerging pharmacological and procedural therapies in hypertension management.
  • Review the clinical guidelines for screening and management of primary hyperaldosteronism.
  • Examine the updated management guidelines for obesity management in CKD patients, including the role of SGLT2i and GLP1-RA.
